Colden Principal Runs Boston Marathon

Colden Elementary School Principal Brooke Langworthy ran the Boston Marathon for the fifth time in her career on Oct. 11.

Mrs. Langworthy, one of the youngest females to complete the six biggest marathons in the world, finished with a time of 3:19:48 and spent two years training for the race after the outbreak of COVID-19 led to the cancellation of the 2020 marathon and delayed the 2021 marathon. Her time qualified her for the next Boston Marathon, scheduled for April of 2022, which she plans to run with her husband, who has also qualified.

“Boston is my absolute favorite,” Mrs. Langworthy said of the race. “The crowds, the city, the whole experience for runners is second to none.”
