Middle School Science Olympiad Team Places 5th

The 2018 Springville Middle School Science Olympiad Team placed 5th overall at Saturday’s Regional competition!  Each of our 15 team members won medals in their individual events.

1st place medals were won by Amelia Strub and Leiann Kief for both their “Rollercoaster” and “Write-it-do-it” event.
2nd place medals were awarded to Nathan Cudney and Keaton Wnuk for the “Road Scholar” event, and to Nathan and the Sam Gottstine for their amazing Hovercraft!
3rd place medals went to Scott Russell and Keaton for the “Anatomy” event, to Sam  and Keaton for “Fast Facts”, to Megan Schneider and Tim Blesy for “Meterology”, Jacob Lazarus and Adam Moody for “Duct Tape Challenge”.
4th place medals were awarded to Megan and Jimmy Snyder for their “Battery Buggy”, Tim, Adam and Jacob also won 4th for “Experimental Design”, and Nathan and Justin Simmons for “Optics”.
3 events got 5th place medals:
“Dynamic Planet” by Alexis Rogers and Megan, “Microb Mission” by Ben Einerson and Scott Russell, and also “Quiz Bowl” by Keaton, Nathan and Ben.
