Holiday Spirit Week Dec. 16-20

Welcome back, Griffins! Today is the first day of a great school year at SGI!

Happy Labor Day from all of us at SGI! We can't wait for the start of school tomorrow, September 3!

Happy Independence Day from all of us at SGI!

All students currently in grades 6-7 and 9-11 will keep their Chromebooks and power adapters (chargers) over the summer. Students currently in grade 8 will turn in their Chromebooks and be issued new devices in September. Students will be expected to bring their Chromebooks during the opening days of school in September. The Technology Department will disable devices on the last day of school and will be reactivating them in the last week in August. Students assigned summer work, such as AP coursework, will be activated individually. Students attending summer school, or summer skills camp will have devices provided on-site.
If you have a student who will not be attending Springville-Griffith schools next year, please return the assigned Chromebook to your main office. This is ONLY if your student(s) will not be attending Springville-Griffith next year.
Please:
Keep the device in a cool and dry location.
Do not leave device unattended.
Store power adapter (charger) with the Chromebook.

Please join us in taking some time this Memorial Day to remember and celebrate those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live and raise our families in the greatest country in the world.

We're adapting to the milk carton shortage!
There is a nationwide shortage of half-pint milk cartons, but SGI Culinary is adapting. We support farmers and know the nutritional value of milk for our children. We will continue to purchase milk and chocolate milk that will be offered in individual cups at all grade levels alongside a choice of water and juice. We will continue to monitor this unique situation that is impacting all schools. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Reminder: We will conduct a Go Home Early Drill on Friday, October 6, 2023 at all of our buildings. Students will be dismissed 15 minutes early.

Colden Elementary is also getting in the spirit. September 25-29 will be a week of fun dress-up days, presented by the CES Student Council!

The first day of Summer Enrichment Camp Session 2 is off to the races! The Horse and Donkey Care, Inspired by Nature Arts, Mindset Math, Chess Camp, Down to Earth Gardening, Color Guard, Golf, Soccer and STEM were just a few of the activities that started off Session 2!

Summer Enrichment Camp is in full swing! Hosted at the high school, students engaged in many activities that will enrich them academically, physically and socially. Wrestling, yoga, Legos, moonwalks and sidewalk chalk drawings were just a few of the activities that started off a great summer at S-GI!

Colden Elementary students were entertained by the anti-bullying magic act of Magic Mike. Many student volunteers were asked to assist with the magic tricks involving ropes, scarves and cards. They also took a pledge to stand against bullying by being good friends.

Happy June! Please enjoy the last Colden Elementary newsletter of the 2022-2023 school year:https://www.smore.com/vymdb

Colden Elementary School Student Council members did their part to show how much we value our volunteers. Members decorated placemats with notes of appreciation to be shared at the CES Volunteer Breakfast.

Colden Elementary students practiced their bus emergency drills this morning. Students learned what to do in cases of emergency. Our students and bus drivers did a great job!
