Principles of Engineering Egg Drop

SGI’s Principle of Engineering students tested their design skills by dropping carrier packages containing raw eggs from the top of a latter truck. The hands-on experiment allowed the students an exciting way to learn about gravity and how materials interact with one another. The goal of the project was to design a carrier that would prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a certain height. Through the project the engineering students were able to apply concepts of momentum, impulse, force and energy.

Springville High School would like to thank Springville’s Volunteer Fire Company for participating in the event.
