SGI Girls Swim Team Takes 3rd Place At ECICs

The Springville-Griffith Institute girls varsity swim team finished in third place at the ECIC Championship meet held Oct. 22 and 23 at Maryvale. Thirteen Griffins qualified for the meet. Along with their top achievement, there were improvements and ECIC patches awarded to the top four places. Griffins who qualified for the meet!


  • Julia Uhteg took 2nd in both her 200 free and 500 free individual races (both personal best times)
  • Gabby Cerasani took 3rd in 50 free and 4th in 100 fly. (both personal best times)
  • The 200-medley relay team of Erin Baker, Hannah Blake, Gabby Cerasani and Lily Gavin took 2nd with all their best splits and overall fastest relay time this season.
  • Ella Ploetz, Danika Westbrook and Riley Ballantyne all had their personal best times in the 100 fly
  • Kiersten Crone had her personal best time in 100 free
  • Brooke Ruzycki had her personal best time in 100 back
  • Maggie Parish had her personal best time in 500 free

The Griffs will be traveling to Olean for the prelims on Wednesday, Oct. 27 and on Friday, Oct. 29 for the Class C Swim meet.
