SGI Volleyball vs Pioneer Panthers

The varsity girls volleyball team pulled out a big 3-1 league win on Wednesday night over the Pioneer Panthers. The girls came out slow dropping the first game 25-19. The girls rallied and had to fight back in game two to take a dramatic 26-24 victory to even up the match. Game three saw the real Lady Griff’s as they dominated all over the floor winning 25-14. The girls completed the comeback win in game four winning by a score of 25-22. Overall the team was led by the 21 digs from Sydney Rosati, 15 assists from Meadow Wittman, 19 digs from Devyn Rowe, and 8 kills by Caroline Roy. The girls will look to make it a three game win streak when they travel to East Aurora tomorrow night.

The JV girls volleyball team traveled to Pioneer on Wednesday night and came away with a resounding 3-0 win. The team played extraordinarily well from the back row. Sara Ehlers covered every swing and passed great throughout the game. Ivette Lewandowski had many kills at the net to lead the team to the win. Alyssa Hunter communicated throughout the game to help keep her team on the same page for the 25-11 win. The girls took game two 25-10 behind the excellent net play of Meg Rehrauer. Meg was a force and ended many points in the Griff’s favor. That game also saw great hustle out of Vaidah Emerling. The girls made it a 3-0 sweep by winning 25-22. Jill Roggie was excellent in the front row and Rachel Stressinger made her mark from the outside. The girls are now 6-0 and travel to East Aurora tomorrow night in hopes of staying undefeated. Great job ladies.
