Var Girls Basketball Defeats Lackawanna 82-10

The varsity girls basketball team traveled to Lackawanna last night and came away with a resounding 82-10 win.  The girls started the game off down 2-0 but flipped the switch and went on a 50-2 run to end the first half.  The girls were stellar in all phases of the game, especially unselfishness with the basketball.  Kenz Owens and Grace Zabawa made countless passes ahead of the defense to give their teammates easy lay-ups.  The game saw 5 players score in double figures; Ivette Lewandowski had 16 points, Kenz Owens contributed 15 points, Grace Zabawa added 14 points, and Kelsey Zabawa along with Meg Rehrauer had 10 points apiece. Other scorers included: Nyah Solly with 6 points, Gracie Attebery with 4 points, Bella Oakley with 4 points, Rachel O’Neal had 2 points and Abby Steiner put in one point to round out the balanced attack.

The Lady Griff’s travel to Depew this evening for a scrimmage.  The team is now 1-0 and is back in action on December 10th when they travel to Mt.Mercy.  Great job ladies!
