Varsity Boys Swimming and Diving Compete Against Eden

On Friday Night, the Varsity Boys Swimming and Diving traveled to Eden for their final away meet of the season.  The result would determine who would be taking 2nd place in the division behind East Aurora.

Ultimately the Eden Dolphins were able to prove victorious with a 104-82 victory, yet the Griffins were able to sustain numerous best times and a few more ECIC qualifying times in the final chance of the season.

Meet Highlights:

Springville were able to secure 2nd place in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Dominic Hartenstein, Jon Boberg, Zach Hughey, and Elliot Emley.

Along with the 2nd place in the 200 Medley, Dominic was able to also take 1st place in the 100 Backstroke, 2nd place in the 50 Freestyle, and help the 400 Freestyle Relay to a 2nd place finish as well.

Jon along with the 2nd place in the 200 Medley, also took first in the 100 Butterfly, and first in the 100 Breaststroke while also being on the winning 200 Free Relay.

In the 200 Freestyle Kurt Uschold was able to secure a first-place finish for the Griffins, along with a first place in the 500 Freestyle.  Kurt also was on the 2nd place 400 Freestyle Relay that finished in 2nd place.

Elliot Emley was able to take 2nd in the 100 Freestyle and 3rd in the 50 Freestyle, along with the 2nd place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.  Elliot was also on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay.

Zach Hughey was able to take 3rd place in the 200 IM, while taking part in all 3 Top finishing relays for the Griffins.

Wyatt Fuller was able to win Diving, while also being in the 200 Medley B Relay that took 4th, and also the 200 Free B Relay that took 4th.

Dakota Schelble took 3rd in Diving while also swimming in the 200 IM, also swimming on the 200 Medley Relay that took 4th, along with swimming on the 200 Free Relay that took 4th.

Special mention to Nathan Myers who was able to drop his 100 Breaststroke time by nearly 4 seconds to qualify for ECIC’s Next Saturday, with a time that secured him a 3rd place finish.

Austin Yetter took 4th in the 200 Freestyle, and 3rd in the 100 Fly while also contributing to the 200 Medley B Relay.

Blaze Schelble was able to score for the Griffins in both the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle while also taking part in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Bret DeFrain was able to score for the Griffins in the 100 Free, and also swam in 3 relays for the Griffins.

Our Final Meet of the Season will be on Tuesday, Home vs. St. Francis where we will have the proud moment to honor our seniors!
