Springville-Griffith Institute

It was reported earlier this afternoon that one of our middle school students made threatening remarks to another student.  Those threats involved bringing a weapon onto school grounds.  Law enforcement was immediately made aware and joined the investigation.  Fortunately, it has been determined that this was not a credible threat but this still obviously causes a major disruption to our school environment.  I want to commend those students who came forward to report this concern and take a moment to remind all of our families and students that, in this day and age, threats of violence in school are never taken lightly.  Thank you for your continued partnership to keep our schools safe.
