In first doubles action, Taylor Wells and Peyton Wells lost 2-6, 5-7. This was the match of the night as the sisters battled valiantly, especially in the second set, but fell short. Still, the girls played hard and saw their play improve as the match progressed
In second doubles action, Kailyn Sprague and Chloe Dinse Johnson lost 4-6, 0-6. The girls started off strong but couldn’t keep the momentum going into the second set. Both girls had moments of good play.

In preparation for the upcoming SAT and ACT, a practice version of the SAT called the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be offered on October 15 from 8:00-11:30AM during the school day as a means of exposing students to the types of questions and testing conditions experienced with an actual SAT. The PSAT also functions as a qualifying test for a National Merit Scholarship (NMSQT stands for National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). These are awarded to students with competitively high scores.
Those students interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT must sign up online at the following link (you may need to create a free account if you do not yet have one) and register by October 1. The cost is $18, and fee waivers are available to those who qualify for free/reduced lunch by visiting the guidance office. Contact us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions at 716-592-3284.

This week was full of fun, but students and staff also took time on Thursday to remember the events of September 11, 2001. They dressed in red, white and blue and at Colden, students created forced-perspective artwork of the twin towers from Ground Zero with the words "Never Forget."

What a great spirit week it has been! The weather has been outstanding, and we are all excited for the annual Homecoming parade, which will leave from Springville High School this evening at 5:30 PM.
We would like to make sure that this is another safe and fun event for our families in attendance. With that, we ask that, once again, adults please keep children on the side of the road during the parade and wait for all vehicles to pass before attempting to pick up any candy from the road. The vehicles and floats are quite large, and drivers may not see children who run out into the roadway. We sincerely appreciate your help in this matter!
Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight! Go Griffins!

As Spirit Week continues, Springville Middle Schoolers donned their class colors, Colden Elementary brought back looks from the past and Springville Elementary students lassoed their cowboy hats for Western Day!
