The varsity girls tennis team dropped a non-league doubleheader match to East Aurora last night by a score of 0-5, 0-5.

In the first singles action, Evelyn Berry lost 7-8 and 2-8. Evelyn showed tremendous growth from last season by putting her full groundstroke game on display. Evelyn hit some incredible shots and never quit. She is in for a BIG season!


In second singles action Natalie Rumfola lost 1-8, 6-8. The second set showed the best version of Natalie as she was moving her opponent all over the court and had a number of winners.

In the first doubles action, Taylor Wells and Peyton Wells lost 1-8. The girls gained valuable experience in the match and played a few games to deuce. In the second match, Taylor Wells and Jackie Thompson lost 2-8. Both girls seemed more comfortable for the second match and hit a lot of quality shots.

In the second doubles action, Jackie Thompson and Chloe Dinse-Johnson lost 2-8. The girls had some moments of strong play but couldn’t quite put it all together. In the second match, Peyton Wells and Chloe lost 1-8. The EA team hit some tough corners and made returning the ball difficult. Despite the result both girls had moments where they played well.

In the third doubles action, Alexis Beckwith and Gianna Nevins lost 4-8. The girls were consistent with their serves and made their opponents work for every point. In the second match, Kailyn Sprague and Teerada Dickson lost 1-8. It was a terrific experience for both girls as they are working hard and playing each point well.

In the doubles exhibition, Kenz Neff and Brooklyn Heim lost 2-6. The girls adjusted throughout the match but couldn’t quite put it all together.

In additional doubles action, Cheyelle Doyle and Brooklyn Heim lost 2-6. Both girls moved well and worked hard throughout the set!

The girls are now 0-2 on the season and host West Seneca this afternoon in a non-league match. Keep working hard ladies!!!
