The varsity girls tennis team dropped a hard-fought match against West Seneca last night by a score of 3-2.

In the first singles action, Evelyn Berry dominated her opponent by winning 6-1, 6-2. Evelyn showed excellent poise throughout the match and was consistent with her overall play.

In second singles action Natalie Rumfola won 6-1, 6-1. Natalie was in complete control of her opponent by playing efficiently and making her opponent work for every point.

In the first doubles play, Taylor Wells and Peyton Wells lost 1-6, 0-6. The girls gave a great effort but couldn’t quite pull together enough points for the win.

In the second doubles action, Jackie Thompson and Chloe Dinse-Johnson lost 0-6, 5-7. Both girls showed terrific heart and effort in fighting back in the match.

In the third doubles action, Gianna Nevins and Alexis Beckwith lost 1-6, 0-6. Both girls showed growth throughout the match and look poised to bounce back in their next matchup.

In exhibition action, Brooklyn Heim and Kailyn Sprague lost 1-6. The loss didn’t tell the whole story as both girls had great moments and made quality shots.

In other action, Teerada Dickson and Cheyelle Doyle lost 2-6. Both girls moved well on the court and showed a lot of progress.

For our last exhibition match, Mackenzie Neff and Alexis Beckwith won 6-4. It was a very competitive match and the girls did a great job of digging deep and pulling out the win.

The girls are now 0-3 on the season. Despite the record, the girls are poised for a big run in the division and will look to get in the win column when they travel to Lake Shore on Monday afternoon.
