The varsity girls tennis team continued their winning ways last night with a big sweep of Lake Shore by a score of 4-1, 4-1.

In first singles action Evelyn Berry was dynamite as she won 8-0, 8-1. As the match went on Evelyn just got stronger and stronger as she pounded forehands and hit a number of aces.

In the second singles action, Natalie Rumfola won 8-1, 8-1. Natalie was in control throughout her match and hit some incredible angles to finish off points as winners.

In the first doubles action, Taylor Wells and Peyton Wells won 8-2, 8-5. The girls cruised in the first set but had to battle back from a 1-4 deficit in the second set. The girls did just that as they took seven of the next eight games and deflated their opponents with their strong play.

In the second doubles action, Jackie Thompson and Lexi Beckwith won 8-4, 8-5. The duo made some excellent shots from the baseline and also had some strong net shots. It was an impressive win for both girls.

In the third doubles action, in the first match, Mackenzie Neff and Gianna Nevins lost 8-5. The girls did well early on in the match but couldn’t quite sustain the strong play. Still, the girls battled and played a solid match.

In the second set, Teerada Dickson and Brooklyn Heim lost 8-7. The match was back and forth throughout, and both girls made some great plays but fell short in the end.

The girls are now 8-0 in league play and will compete for the division championship as they host undefeated (in league) Iroquois this Thursday afternoon for a doubleheader. The teams have yet to play one another this year.

Come out and support this awesome team!
