The girls tennis team got back to their winning ways last night with a big 3-2 win over Tonawanda. The girls were down two starters on the day but found a way to pull out the win.
In the first singles action, Evelyn Berry won 6-0, 6-0. Evelyn stayed sharp throughout the contest and played some terrific tennis.
In the second singles action, Mackenzie Neff lost 2-6, 2-6. Kenz was put in the singles spot for the first time this season and performed very well. She competed and won a lot of tough points.
In the first doubles action, Taylor Wells and Peyton Wells won 6-2, 6-2. The sisters put on a great display of shot-making and consistent play throughout the match.
In the second doubles action, Lexi Beckwith and Chloe Dinse-Johnson lost 2-6, 2-6. The girls couldn’t quite find their footing in the match but still battled and did all they could to get back into the match.
In third doubles action, Teerada Dickson and Kailyn Sprague won 6-4, 6-4. It was a huge win for the team as both girls continued to show their progress with ball striking and quickness at the net.
In the first exhibition play, Gianna Nevins won 6-0. Gianna did a great job moving on the court and hitting big-time shots to get the win.
The girls are now 10-5 overall and finish their season this afternoon when they travel to Alden for a non-league match.
